The Basics: A Pull Through

***A FABULOUS GIVEAWAY UPDATE ***

So I'm a bit late on this & I owe Jen over at All Things Ribbon, an apology ... but she e-mailed me a while back about a fun giveaway and with all the stupid stress from trying to find a new car everything in my life has been out of wack. So here's the deal :

All Things Ribbon has just launched a fun new blog that is for her bow business, but also has hair tutorials & making bows - can't get much better than that. She is generously giving away a dress and matching bow. We got our Easter dress from her & LOVE it so you don't want to pass this chance up. Back before Easter she gave a dress away too, so you may want to follower her because I think it's in her nature to be generous like this & you don't want to miss out!
So head on over & enter to win the darling bow & dress. Don't forget to tell her Babes in Hairland sent you. I get extra "bloggy love" points in bloggy heaven for that! hehe :)

*************
I've had several people e-mail me recently about how I do "pull-through's." I finally got around to making a quick video to show you. Don't know if it'll help in your process if you struggle with these, but here it is nonetheless. For me, there are things that I just have to practice over & over until I feel like I've got them down & if this is the case for you w/pull through's -- as Mom's everywhere say, "practice makes perfect!" Good luck!

Hope this helps. I usually use a lighter colored rubberband so if it doesn't pull through as nicely as I'd hoped you can't see the rubber band glaring at you. I did a bright one so you could see it when I did the video, but this one came through nicely so you can't even see it I don't think.

  7. Hi, Popping in from SITS. Noticed that you got a new car - we got a Sequoia the first year they came out (2001) - and we still have it - because I love it!

Love your blog too. I cut all 3 of my kids' hair (and mine too); only one is a girl, but at least I have her hair to play with :)

  11. I'm so glad I found our blog. You are really inspiring me to come up with some cute hair do's for my little girls. I have yet to learn how to do a french braid.

I like the toddler hair do's you show too. My little one has curly hair that I just want to flat iron! But maybe some of these ponies and pull throughs are the answer?
