3 Braids into 1

As promised, here's a hairdo not related to Alice in Wonderland at all!  If you're not a big French braider or don't French braid quickly this can be done with regular old braids - but I had a bit more time this day so I did French braids.  Either way - it's versatile, not rocket science -but I think it looks quite neat.

On the right side of the head make a side part on top of the head.  Then part down to the ear.  Make your braid (French or regular) and tie it off with a rubber band.
On the left side, part it down to the ear, and then divide that into 2 sections.  (Hold the hair in the very back apart from the rest of the hair with a clip - you can sort of see my red clip.)  You'll braid the section of hair closest to the face first, so hold the other section by the ear with a clip to keep it out of the way.
Braid the front section and secure with a rubber band.
Then braid that second section, and also secure with a rubber band.  Again, remember, regular old braids will work just great for this too.
Then pull all your braids together - but you'll be offsetting it, so pull the right braid more towards the left side.
Then braid all 3 braids together - just a regular old braid.  Tie off with a rubber band.  Because the strand that came from the right side of the head is shorter, you'll probably run out of hair to braid the braids all the way down - so go until you run out of one of the strands to braid with.  I just pulled the rubber bands out underneath the blue one and combed the braids out below that blue rubber band.
Add your accessory of choice, and ta-da - quick & easy and it looks so pretty.
If the hair you're working with isn't long enough to pull it to one side, just do it smack down the middle of the back of her head.  That works too.  But if you do pull it to one side, then you'll have a braid wrapping around the back of her head like this:
And a freakin' huge cheezer grin before we headed out the door for school!
I also did this on Bug the same day.  They often sport the same hairdo's depending on my mood!  I liked Bug's a bit better because her hair is a bit longer so I could do the "combo braid" longer, and it's not as thick - so the combined 3 braids looked less chunky & cooler I think!  Anyway, hope you like this - we sure did!

So classy! I actually did one with this same idea -combining braids- the other day! It was with short hair, so it didn't look the same at all, but the theory is similar!

The accessories are such a nice touch, too!

I really love this style! It's so classy looking. I could never do it on a school day, though, my daughter can't have hair hanging down or it gets too tangled. She plays too hard, I guess. We'll do this Sunday for church!

This is so pretty. I just wish my daughter's hair were long enough for it. I did my own version instead. We did the three (french) braids, and then since there is no way I could possibly combine those braids into another braid even a little bit, I just gathered the three braids together into a ponytail just under the part, and then curled her hair. She looked totally cute, and it stayed nice all day, including a play date at the park. I think we'll be doing this one a lot.

I just found your blog the other day through a friend!

I am so excited... I love to style hair and the little four year old girl I nanny has beautiful long curly hair!

I just did this hair style on her and it turned out great! She was so excited about it... She said " Now I am a princess!"
